true when 2 wonderful warm friends; Marina & Sergei of Magadan, Russia came to Langkawi. Magadan is virtually an icy place with average temperature as low as -38 C & only 100 days of growing seasons & the remaining 265 days, virtually nothing can grow because the soil is frozen. However, ice is nothing but with Marina & Sergei.

Малайская пословица гласит: «Рыба в море , а тамаринд   ( азиатская приправа) на земле, но в конце концов, они встретятся в банке”.

 Действительно не важно, как далеко вы находитесь от ваших друзей, вы  обязательно встретите в один прекрасный день.

 Это Марина и Сергей  невероятно милая и приятная пара. 

Они приехали  на Лангкави из Магадана,где среднегодовая температура  - 38 С. Но этот факт, никак не повлиял на  их характер. Они очень теплые и счастливые люди.

 ENG:  This sweet warm couple thought that everything else was icy cold just like the people who handled their travel bookings. Things were booked & they were left with only sensationalized information in pamphlets & the ones relayed to them by their booking agent. In conclusion, they were left with no clue as to what Langkawi has to offer except for spending their days on the beach at the hotel they are staying.

Поначалу Лангкави встречает  их не очень дружелюбно. Со стороны агентства ,отвечающего за приём туристов на Лангкави, почти нет информации об острове и его достопримечательностях. 

 В результате у них создаётся впечатление , что Лангкави - это только пляж и ничего более.

           

Smiles amongst the clouds

  ENG:  However, their real holidays started when their friendly nature brought them to 3infoF1rst. They were made to know that Langkawi is more than just beaches (only on sunny days). Langkawi is a place of wonder only if you have the right people who are willing to share with you the realness of a place. Their first adventure began with a trip up Mat Chinchang Mountain on the cable car. You might think it’s just a cable car ride, but if you have someone there whom you can trust to make you feel comfortable & part of the environment, the cable car ride was more than just a ride. It was a trip into the clouds. Yes it’s cool up there overlooking the clouds onto the landscape of rice fields, sea & valleys but it’s not cold. It’s cool. You get to feel like you are Zeus looking down on earth from Mount Olympus. Of course that was not just their adventure for the day. They made a visit to the Land of Crocodiles a.k.a. Crocodile Farm & took a dip in the cool water of 7 Wells Waterfall a.k.a. the biggest waterfall in Langkawi & a.k.a. the place where the 7 fairies princesses always come down to play. We could see that Marina & Sergei had an enchanting time because we made sure that they get to see what they are supposed to see, & experience. To be taken to a place of interest, to be accompanied & entertained by information & stories of fairies & wonders made their trip even more meaningful & we are glad we were the ones who get to do this.

            Their day of adventure ends with an early dinner @late lunch at our place called 3 (T.i.g.a). Even though this eatery is closed for repair & renovation, but as the Malay culture goes, a house never closed for friends. They had Fried Winter Melon with Sour Cream Sauce for starter, Wedding Chicken, Beef Fried with Sweet Soy Sauce, Stuffed Grilled Horse Mackerel & Mango Salad as main course which was served on a big tray like having lunch in a Malay household. Their lunch was greeted by the watchful eyes of the macaques hoping for some treats. Their late lunch ended with Fried Golden Banana with Vanilla Cream Sauce drizzled with Caramel which they savoured with some hot Rose Tea.

К счастью они встретили нас, “3 info first”,и остров открылся им совсем с другой стороны. 

Лангкави-это удивительный остров и если у вас есть человек, который хочет поделиться с вами красотой этого места, то вам посчастливится увидеть все его грани .

Их первое приключение началось с посещения горы Мат Chinchang на фуникулере ( Cable car). Вы подумаете : «Канатная дорога. Ну и что?» Но если у вас есть  человек,  которому вы можете доверять , с кем будете чувствовать себя комфортно, человек который во время путешествия рассказал  бы вам красивые истории и легенды острова, то поездка превратится в  нечто большее, чем просто  восхождение  на фуникулере. На вершине горы ,в окружении облаков,взирая на невероятные пейзажи острова и бескрайнюю водную гладь, мы ощутили себя богами Олимпа.

     Естественно, что это было не единственное приключение . Позже они посетили страну крокодилов, т.е.   «Ферму крокодилов». Затем имели возможность насладиться прохладной водой водопада «Семи колодцев» ( Seven Wells).Это не только самый большой водопад острова, но как гласит легенда, место куда вечером, спускаются купаться 7 Фей .

Мы имели возможность увидеть, как с каждым приключением изменяется  мнение Марины и Сергея о Лангкави. Мы показали им то, что они должны были увидеть и помогли  почувствовать то, что они должны были почувствовать. Мы  очень рады, что наши дороги пересеклись и ребята,  с нашей помощью ,получили полноценный отдых, который они заслуживают.

День завершился  поздним  обедом или ранним ужином в ресторане «3 tiga». Хотя наш ресторан закрыт из-за ремонта , это ничуть не помешало   нам и никак не отразилось на качестве обеда. У малайцев говорят: «Мой дом всегда открыт для друзей». И это действительно так.

 Обед начался с жареных кабачков в молочно-чесночном соусе.  Основным блюдом являлась курица в красном соусе, который в Малайзии готовится только по особому случаю,  например, такому как свадьба. Затем была говядина в соевом соусе и  рыба  Makarel , фаршированная  специальной начинкой. Также принесли салат из зеленого манго. Все эти блюда подавались на большом подносе , в традициях  малайского дома . Во время обеда, наши гости находились под наблюдением  обезьян, которые сидели неподалёку  от нас ,на  дереве в ожидании возможности получить что-то из еды.

На десерт гостям подали  жареные бананы с карамельно- ванильным соусом и чай из розы.




ENG :The smile on their face & trying to say how they enjoyed the food & the company can really put a smile on you. They mentioned that they had never tasted the flavours in their entire life even though they had been traveling to many south east Asian countries. Well this is the Malay flavours that we shared with them. Before they went back to their hotel, they made another request if they could possible have bread for their next trip as they are more used to bread rather than rice. It’s understood because some Malays can’t even go a day without rice. So, another date with Langkawi & bread was set & the adventure continues.

После обеда их улыбка была самой большой наградой для нас. Они сказали, что много раз были в Юго-Восточной Азии, но никогда не пробовали такой вкусной едой. Перед тем как вернуться в отель они попросили в следующий раз, если это возможно, испечь для них хлеб. В Малайзии вместо привычного хлеба подают рис. У каждого свои традиции, и это нам понятно .Так что в следующий раз хлеб  для них был готов .На этом наши приключения не закончились, но о них мы расскажем  в следующий блог......

Frown Turned 180 Degrees

Хмурость повернулась на 180 градус

 

ENG: Bondarenko family from Ukraine came for a holiday in Langkawi. They came to 3 (t.i.g.a) for lunch & dinner twice for each meal. Content with the food that they had at 3 (t.i.g.a), the head of the family, the father, finally agreed to take his family on 3éscape. I could comprehend that being the head of a family; you want your family to feel safe, happy & comfortable especially when you have a small little girl & a teenage girl.

Семья Бондаренко из Украины приехала  отдохнуть на  о.Лангкави. Они посетили наш ресторан «3 t.i.g.a» в  обед .  Вкус  предложенных  блюд  не оставил их равнодушными и они решили заглянуть к нам ещё раз на ужин. Отец  семьи попросил  сделать для его домочадцев  3 escape экскурсии . Я могу понять, что будучи главой семьи , вы хотите, чтобы ваши родные чувствовали себя в безопасности  счастливо  и комфортно , особенно если у вас есть маленькие дети.

       

  

ENG:  And so another adventure begins for 3 (t.i.g.a). Everything packed, everything done. Everybody in the boat but then, the horror starts. At 3 (t.i.g.a), it's believed that creating the perfect atmosphere for families starts with the kids. Be sure they are happy, be sure they are eating & then to make the parents feel like they are in a children friendly environment. The teenage daughter seems happy enough with her ducky toy in hand sitting smiling looking beyond the river, mangroves & sky. However, the youngest daughter was sitting in between her mum & dad, folding her arms, a frown on the face & started yawning as we start our boat ride through the mangroves. Then, she took out her PSP & started playing games. Not a good sign. However our boat captain swerved the boat into the canopies of the mangrove to have a close look at a Brown-winged Kingfisher perching on a branch of a mangrove tree. With this, the PSP was put quietly put back in the bag & the little girl started to show curiousity of trying to find the colourful bird among the branches. We’re saved!

И вот для 3 (t.i.g.a) начинается еще одно приключение. Всё подготовлено и упаковано. Все в лодке, но потом оооооооо........ ужас начинается!!! Мы считаем , что создавая идеальную атмосферу для семьи нужно начинать с детей. Если родители уверены , в том что их дети счастливы, что они не останутся голодными ,то  и взрослые будут чувствовать себя комфортно. Девочка-подросток ,с  милой  игрушкой в руках, кажется вполне довольной .Она  улыбаясь , смотрит  на реку, мангровые леса и  безоблачное голубое небо. А вот её младшая сестрёнка сидела между мамой и папой, скрестив руки и нахмурившись . Её не сильно волновали мангровые леса и она откровенно зевала. Затем она вынула PlayStation и начал играть в игры...... хмммммм ???? Не очень хороший знак. Однако наш капитан свернул лодку ближе к мангровым деревьям ,заметив там  птицу зимородка. Ага… PlayStation  положен обратно в сумку и девочка начала проявлять любопытство, пытаясь найти красочную  птичку в ветвях. Ура , мы спасены!

          

 ENG:  As we continue our journey into the mangroves, after a few swerves of the boat by the captain, we get to see the eagles’ aerial display. This time, they were lucky as 3 types of eagles came to greet us. The Brown/Brahmini Kites, the Black Kites & White-belly Sea eagles. No matter how many times I see them I could never get enough of their majestic gestures in the air. The whole family were excited & yes, no more PSP from there on. Macaques or Long-tailed Monkey came out to see the aliens in the floating blue boat, displaying their cheekiness & showing of their acrobatic skills in hope for some peanuts @ food. No, we tried not to feed them. Then everybody was smiling when a mommy monkey showed us her new born baby in her arms. It’s always a different sight every time. They were also entertained by a swimming varanus who was coincidently crossing our path in the Kilim River. It's nice to see when the whole family can enjoy something which to many people are lament things such as trying to have a close look on the mud banks for the colourful tiny Mud Crabs.

         Наша компания продолжает  путешествие в мангровые леса и  после нескольких поворотов реки мы увидели  орлов. На этот раз нам очень повезло, потому что  три вида орлов кружили над нами: Brown/Brahminy Kites (браминский коршун) ,  Black Kites (чёрный коршун ) и White-bellied Sea eagle (белобрюхий орел). Независимо от того, сколько раз  вижу это действо , я не могу налюбоваться им. Размах крыльев , красочное оперение и гордое парение этих величественных птиц поражает воображение. Вся семья была  в восторге !!! И прощай  PlayStation .С того момента мы его больше не видели . Макаки ,или как их ещё называют длиннохвостые обезьяны ,вышли посмотреть на «инопланетян» в плывущей лодке. Они стали нам показывать забавные  акробатические номера с надеждой получить немного кешью.  Из соображения безопасности ,мы старались их не кормить. Все стали улыбаться, когда мама обезьян показала нам своё новорожденное дитя.  Семье Бондаренко посчастливилось увидеть  варана , который  плавал недалеко от нашей лодки. Увидеть  варана непременно к прибыли. Приятно видеть, когда вся семья может наслаждаться чем-то  вместе, когда они обращают внимание даже на мелочи, которые для  большинства людей здесь являются тривиальными, например маленькие крабы.

ENG:Arrived at our beach, the family took the chance to venture into the Cave of Story while their lunch is being prepared. Nicely tucked under the shadow of a tree, the family started their lunch with Chicken sausage Toto Bread freshly made on the beach itself together with salad on the side. Hot & sizzling off the grill, they had their main course which consists of Egg Fried Rice with BBQ fish, prawn & calamari. Not to forget, chicken fingers for the little one who was at that time actively exploring everything on the beach & was chatting & playing jokes with everyone, including the boat captain. As for dessert, it was an unexpected surprise for the Bondarenko. When they were dining at 3 (t.i.g.a), they had the Steamed Triple Dark Chocolate Cake & they really, really, really liked it.

      Тем временем мы уже подплыли к  нашему пляжу. Наш повар сразу приступил к приготовлению еды. Был разложен гриль, на котором  шкварчали рыба, креветки и кальмары .На гарнир предложен жареный рис с яйцом. Мы конечно не забыли и про самых маленьких среди нас. Куриные палочки пришлись по вкусу малышке .Она была в приподнятом настроении ,активно изучала всё на пляже и беспрерывно болтала со всеми, в том числе и с нашим капитаном. В то время как  готовился обед, семья  решила заглянуть  в «Пещеру Легенд».
